Although we never want to think about it, death is a part of life; when someone close to you experiences a loss, death of a friend poems can be a thoughtful way to offer your support and caring.
I know that you have lost your friend
And I just want to say
That I am here to comfort you
Each long step of the way.
I know that you are feeling sad
And want to be alone,
But I just want to let you know
You are not on your own.
If you ever need to talk,
Or just sit quietly,
You can call me anytime
I mean that honestly.

When a close friend loses someone they care about deeply, it can leave you feeling helpless. You want to comfort your friend, but it is hard to know what to say or do to take away the pain. The best thing you can do is offer your quiet support, and let your friend tell you what they need.
My cousin had a really good friend when she was in college who was killed in a tragic car accident - a drunk driver ran a red light and plowed into the car she was driving. My cousin was inconsolable for weeks - the senselessness of such a tragedy was almost too much to bear.
It was so hard to know what to say - finding the words to comfort someone who is grieving can seem like an impossible task. I sat down one day and started looking for poems that could gently say how I felt and let my cousin know that I was there for her, no matter what she needed.
I gave her this poem here, and although it could not take away the pain of her loss, she did feel comforted to know that she had people who cared for her and were there to offer a shoulder to cry on. Let's hope you never need it, but in the event that someone close to you loses a good friend, death of a friend poems can let them know that they are not alone.
