It's hard not to be discouraged,

A true friend is a person who is there even when things are going wrong, not just during the good times. A close friend who stands by your side through the trials and tribulations of life is an invaluable treasure, and you should never let their loyalty and caring go unnoticed and unacknowledged.
My husband is a friend like this to me. Several years ago, I was just finishing up my college degree, as well as taking care of my three young children. I was terribly stressed out, because I had so much school work to do, and it was difficult to find time after taking care of the little ones.
I was only weeks away from graduating, and I had to finish my dissertation - a seventy page paper that required nearly my full attention. My husband saw that I was getting really discouraged, and he did everything he could to keep me going.
Among other things, he gave me a little poem like this one, telling me how much he believed in me and that he had faith that I would earn my degree. When I walked up to that podium on my graduation day, I knew that it was in large part because of him.
