Sometimes, the best friendships are between males and females; even when they are not romantic, two people of the opposite sex can connect on a level that is truly special. If you have a close friend like this, you know how special that relationship can be.
I know two people just like this - Todd and Christine have been working together for years, and they are the best of friends. Christine is married and has a gorgeous little boy, and Todd recently moved in with his new girlfriend. But the two of them are together all day long, and talk on the phone after work.
Even though there is nothing romantic about their relationship, either of them would be devastated to lose the other. Their families even spend holidays together, and they joke around that he is her "other husband."
The poem here describes their relationship exactly. Even though we tease them sometimes, we all know how special they are to each other, and they will always be the best of friends.
