Going
I know that this move is the best
You're doing great and I'm impressed
But still I hate to see you go,
For you are my dear friend, you know.
You're going to another town
And though it makes me feel so down
I'm very proud of all you've done
And hope your new place will be fun.
So congratulations on your move,
There's nothing that you need to prove,
I know that you will do just great,
I'll visit - I can hardly wait!

Saying goodbye is never easy, especially when the person leaving is someone you care about deeply. Throughout our lives, there are many occasions where people we love move away. The poem here reminds me of when my sister graduated from college and got a new job in another state.
We had always been close and shared everything from our bedroom to clothes to our deepest secrets. Even though we fought the way that sisters do, we are the best of friends, and we rely on each other for everything.
So when it was time for her to move away, it felt like a huge hole had opened up in my life. I knew I would really miss her, but this new job was the opportunity she had been waiting for. Of course we planned to talk every day, but talking on the phone is not the same thing as seeing each other.
One day, surfing the internet, I found some poems similar to this one; the words say exactly how I was feeling. I actually printed one out and tucked it into a card I gave her at her going-away party. Friendship goodbye poems can help you get over the toughest part of having someone close to you move away by giving you the right words to say goodbye.
