Told You So
My friend, I know a secret,
But I've promised not to tell,
But I can give you lots of hints,
(I think that this sounds swell!).
The secret, well, it's about YOU,
It's not a nasty one,
I wouldn't tell you that you stink,
Or that you are not fun.
The secret is that you are loved,
By everyone you know,
But don't tell anyone at all,
'Twas me who told you so!

There is an old saying that laughter is the best medicine; this is just as true today as when it was first uttered hundreds of years ago. Humor can help us to cope with all kinds of problems and see the bright side of even the most difficult situation.
This poem reminds me of a good friend of mine. She is easy to tease, and I know just how to put a smile on her face. Whenever she is having a bad day, I can always make her smile and turn her mood around. No matter what is happening, I can get her laughing.
One day, while I was visiting and we were having coffee in her kitchen, she was feeling depressed about her job. She was worried that she would be passed over for a promotion, and she was brooding about her career and her future.
As she was talking, I handed her this poem that I had in my purse; she read it, and soon she was smiling. Before long, we were laughing and talking, and she began to feel confident in her talents once again. You can make your best friend's day with friendship poems and quotes from our poetry website.
