Lean on Me
Lean on me, my dearest friend,
I know that things seem rough,
But you will find inside yourself,
That you are very tough.
I'm here to lend a helping hand,
Or just to show support,
So just hang on, because I know,
You're not the quitting sort.
I love you and I'm proud of you,
I mean that from the heart,
And if you ever need some help,
I'm here to do my part.

The saying goes that a friend in need is a friend indeed. To put this a different way, a friend that is only there for the good times and excitement in life is not really a friend at all; someone who is there for you through the bad times, lending you a shoulder to cry on, an arm to lean on, and all the support they can give is a true friend.
If you have a friend like this, you are extremely fortunate, and you should never forget what this person has done for you. And of course, you would do the same for them any time they needed a helping hand.
When my sister was getting a divorce, she felt like her world was falling apart. The heartbreak, worry and upheaval were almost too much to bear. I knew that she would make it through, because she is a strong person. But she needed to know that she had friends and loved ones who understood and were there to give her whatever she needed during this difficult time.
Some of her friends called her every day, some offered to babysit her kids, and I made sure that she had company all the time. One of her good friends sent her this poem, and it really helped to give her the strength she needed. When you send a poem on friendship, you tell your friends that you care and that you will always be there.
